HPSC Civil Judge Junior Division Exam Details:

The selection of suitable candidates for appointment in HCS (Judicial Branch) will be made by holding an examination. The examination shall be conducted in three stages namely.

(i) Preliminary Examination,

(ii) Main Examination,

(iii) Viva-Voce.

Haryana PSC Civil Judge preliminary exam syllabus:

The Preliminary Examination consists of objective type with (MCQ’s) multiple-choice-questions (may be on computer) as distinguished from the written examination which will be subjective type.

The objective type MCQ’s for the Preliminary Examination will be from the syllabus for the Main Examination.

For the hpsc civil judge recruitment exam candidate must have a general and basic over view of the main subjects and of current events of national and international importance, Indian legal and constitutional history and governance before the exam.

The exam also consist some analytical skills and aptitude questions. The level of the recruitment question paper will be of graduate level.


Haryana PSC Civil Judge preliminary exam pattern:

The question paper for Preliminary Examination shall be of two hours duration. It will consist of 125 questions and each question carry 4 marks and for every wrong answer one mark is deducted.

 HCS Preliminary Exam has the main objective to short list candidates for the Main Exam. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam will not be counted in final result.

There is no passing marks in preliminary exam. Cut Off of preliminary exam will be made on the basis of candidates equal to 10 times of the number of vacancies advertised for the Main Exam. However, this may vary also.For further process of viva voice after main exam, candidates thrice the number of advertised posts will be called.

100 Hindi (in Devnagri Script)

(a) Translation of an English passage into Hindi : 20

Paper-VI- Viva-Voce

To judge the personal qualities of the candidates. The viva-voce shall relate to the matters of general interest and is intended to test the candidates’ alertness, intelligence and general outlook. it shall be conducted in English.



(i) Main Exam will be of subjective type. Medium of the exam will be only English except for language paper.

(ii) Bare copies of legislative enactments only shall be supplied.

(iii) Each written paper has the duration of three hours.

(iv) The standard of the language paper shall be that of Matriculation Examination of the BSEH.
